    1. I just purchased Carmen and am stuck already! I CO 20 st using the provisional method. The directions say P20, pm, and P20. What 20? I only cast on 20—? Please help clarify. Thank you

    2. [...] a special code in addition to the early bird price.  Also, I have already started putting up the tutorial for this [...]

    3. Hi, I am confused by the instructions for the grafting of the hood. Can you interpret them for me please? Has nobody else asked for more clarification?

    4. I am trying to make your Empyrean Tunic. I cannot find where to place the markers. Can you help me please. This is a beautiful pattern but I’m fining it very difficult. I’ve been knitting for many many years but this pattern has me stumped. Am I doing something wrong?

      • You will have 12 markers total: 8 to mark the cable pattern repeats and 4 to mark the raglan increases. When you cast on, you start with the beginning/end of round marker. The rest of the markers are not placed until after the short row shaping for the back/back neck. The instructions for placing the markers occur in Column 3 on page 34 for the Summer 2010 Issue of Interweave Knits. Also make sure to read the Notes regarding the markers. Hope that helps!

    5. I’m working the weekend shawl. I brought the pattern from a yarn shop so I hope I have an updated version! The error page won’t open for me. I have a question. You instruct to knit through the front loop when doing an LLI. All of my reference books say to knit through the back loop. Help, what should I do?

      • Yes that was a typo. The instructions for LLI should read:

Left Lifted Increase. With LH needle, insert into and
lift LH loop of st 2 rows below st last worked (on RH
needle). Knit 1 into front loop of lifted st.

Hi! I wondering if you could explain to me on “how to” complete this part of a pattern that I am working on.

I have done this part: all 36 sts onto one ndl and also cast 36 sts onto other cir ndl. BUT how do I join them? NO the tutorial did show or tell me.

      PEAK
Place first and last 27 sts of round on waste yarn, leaving center 36 sts on needle. Place all 36 sts on one needle.

CO 36 sts onto other circular needle; continuing from these sts, k center 36 sts of crown; join to begin working in the round, being careful not to twist CO edge. 72 sts. Needle 1 is needle with newly CO sts, Needle 2 holds center sts of crown.

I just finished the peak and I could not pick up the hole amount of stitches to shape the back of the cap.
I have the 56 stitches that were left + 38 stitches that I picked up on the cast-on for the peak. From where shall I pick up the stitches to complete the 58. I am knitting the size L.
      Thank you,
      Grace
